Tinker Homestead and Farm

Last Saturday we went to Tinker Farm. There was a small event there with a band playing (the Okie Dokies if I remember correctly) and free ice cream. Here is the 2-man band playing a banjo made in 1850, and a parlor guitar, also made in 1850.

There were also some guys there advertising another upcoming event--a Civil War encampment.

We skipped out on the Homestead museum. We heard it was pretty cool, but Kurt and I have seen plenty of old houses and we figured our kids would be pretty bored. So we headed straight to the Nature Museum.
Here is an ultra zoomed in picture of a bee's stinger going through the eye of a needle.
This fawn never stood a chance...
The girls both loved the turtles there.
Here is Naomi checking out some insect pictures under a microscope
 The floating fox.

The touchy feely table.
A little too creepy for my taste.

We had fun. Naomi told us the animals were fake. We didn't argue.
