Naomi is pretty excited that she gets homework this year. Her Kindergarten teacher mentioned on the first day that what they do in Kindergarten these days is really what first grade used to be. So far Naomi has been excited about her homework (oh, to be young and naive), which is funny because last week several of the assignments were coloring, and after she'd color for a few minutes, she would say it was too hard and go lie down on the couch for a break. Cracks me up. In her defense, she is a careful colorer, and coloring pages take her a long time. I've been showing her techniques for coloring faster.
She receives her homework on a weekly basis, which allows us to work on a few pages each day. This week, there aren't a lot of coloring pages. Naomi was so excited, she flew through 9 pages of homework, only asking for help on a couple pages. She got it nearly all right too. They were shape sorting (math/science) pages, and Naomi told me they were "easy peasy". But now she's bummed, because almost all her homework is done, and she won't have anything to work on the rest of the week. Life can be so hard sometimes. I told her I would look for some on the computer for her, and that seemed to appease her.

Ha! It's always sad when your homework is done, right? Wait...
