One Year Older and Wiser Too

Kurt celebrated his 28th birthday this year. We had BBQ chicken sandwiches for dinner with ice cream cake for dessert.
Naomi put the candles on and then helped blow them out. Isn't she a good helper?
And to top it off, I surprised Kurt with tickets to see his favorite comedian, Brian Regan, who happened to be in town the following week. Happy birthday, Kurt!

Art Class 9/14

Every week in the fall there is an art class at the apartments where I live. I haven't gone in past years since I felt Naomi was too young, but she is finally old enough where she can do all these fun things.
This week was making a sidewalk chalk dragon. They had Naomi at "sidewalk chalk".
And this beauty greeted us when we arrived home. Sippy lid is for size comparison purposes. He technically was not inside my house, but I thought it was a little too close for comfort. He was a goner. I have my kids to protect.

First Day of Preschool

I decided to enroll Naomi in preschool this year. She goes every Monday and Tuesday morning. By the way, I did not pose her for this picture.
She had a cough the first day she was supposed to go, so she missed her first day. So her actual first day happened to be Kurt's birthday, September 14th. I was nervous since she's been a little clingy lately, but she had no problems going. She went in the room, didn't even say good-bye and was off playing to her heart's content.
Doesn't she look so big?

Rochester Rhinos vs. Tampa Bay

Saturday, September 11th we got a last minute call from some friends saying they had extra tickets to a Rhinos soccer game. Kurt has been wanting to go for a while so we jumped at the chance. We didn't have time to find a babysitter so we took the kids with us.

As it turns out, Naomi LOVED it! She was shouting and dancing and making up cheers the whole game. She also loved the mascot, Rex the Rhino. We went down to the vendors at half time and Naomi saw Rex up close. She was terrified at first, but after he left, she was begging to see him again.
In honor of September 11th, they had a firetruck at the game that would sound its siren after every goal. For whatever reason, after the game ended Rex the Rhino climbed up the ladder and stayed there. Naomi insisted on going to see him. I'm not sure what she thought Rex was doing up there, but she kept shouting, "You can do it, Rex!"

Backwards Day

Naomi's getting very good at dressing herself. She put her shirt on all by herself. She needed a little help with her pants, though.
But something wasn't quite right. No, these aren't capris. Naomi is wearing Emma's 6-12 month pants. In her defense, I picked them out.

I'm Back!

Did you miss me? You may have wondered why I didn't blog during the month of September, especially since it was Naomi's birthday, Kurt's birthday, Emma's half birthday and Naomi started preschool. The answer is simple. Our computer died! A few days after my Care Bear post our computer refused to power on. After a week of hoping this would change but with no luck, we finally decided to take our computer in. Luckily, it was still under warranty. Our computer was fixed after 3 1/2 agonizing weeks of no computer, making for a month total. I actually didn't miss it as much as I thought I would, but I was pretty sad I couldn't post the pictures from all the fun things we did. The hardest part was that it made it difficult for Kurt to study as much as he needed to. But, we are back in business now, so if you keep checking back over the next few days, I am planning on updating you on our jam-packed month.
